TMI had a vision for more than an orphanage.  Simon began a church plant within the village (Bengal).  Plans were begun for a Bible School on the property similar to other Bible Schools TMI has around the world.  Also, there was a vision for having a boot camp for the young people of Mozambique so they could go out and bring light to the rest of the country.   Much clearing of the land, planting and building have gone on to help bring all of this to a reality.  Summer teams from the USA come over every summer and help with the necessary projects. 

   There have been incredible obstacles along the way, but the Lord has provided perseverance  to those involved and given the help to get through each trial.  There has been much sickness (especially malaria), there has been theft of valuable property and there has been much interference from the corrupt government of Mozambique to name a few of the problems faced.  It is obvious to anyone who visits there that there is so much Light there as a result of the gospel of Christ coming there in comparison to the darkness surrounding it.  Mozambique has been under the influence of war, Marxism, ignorance and depravity for a very long time.  There is a definite spiritual battle for the hearts of the people in that country.  The orphanage  and the other ministries   there is a small beacon and a ray of hope going out to the surrounding areas.
